Housing stock
Brighton's grand streets in 3186, under the City of Bayside, hold Victorian villas and Edwardian houses with generous rooms and original sculleries pushed to the rear. Closer to the shops and the foreshore the mix includes older apartments, where kitchens are galley shaped and share services. Sandy soils and coastal moisture show up around older steel windows and external laundry doors more than they do in an inland bungalow. Heritage streetscapes are likely. We treat the front rooms as fabric to leave alone unless planning says otherwise. No invented Brighton kitchen photograph sits on this page.
